P&G Employee Loan Fund

Announced at 1000 Islands CDC Annual General Meeting

We are pleased to provide interest free loans to workers being displaced by the closure of the Brockville Procter & Gamble manufacturing facility. We have set aside $1,000,000 over three years to serve approximately twenty-five employees wishing to establish a small business following their departure from P&G. This effort is expected to generate fifty full time employment positions in addition to the jobs these new entrepreneurs will be creating for themselves. In partnership with the Employment & Education Centre we have also established an on-site counselling presence to assist all P&G employees as they transition to new employment or self-employment careers.
