Brock Trails

Announced at 1000 Islands CDC Annual General Meeting

For the past several years there has been much work done by volunteers and City of Brockville officials to create, expand and enhance a series of trails connecting the City of Brockville from north to south and from east to west. These “Brock Trails” have become a very popular attraction for locals and visitors alike as they offer a quiet, enjoyable avenue for walking, hiking, running and cycling throughout the city. We were pleased to assist this effort with $30,000 worth of federal government funding support under the Eastern Ontario Development Program. The project continues to be a significant asset that regularly receives high praise as a sophisticated network of trails encouraging a more active lifestyle for all. The 1000 Islands CDC also used the occasion of our funding announcement to honour our dear friend and former director, Mr. Russ Chartier, who was an advocate and volunteer for this project prior to his tragic passing.
